Tensions are rising in Ferguson, Missouri, with reports of an impending decision by a grand jury charged with investigating the death of a black unarmed teenager at the hands of a city police officer.
One report says the decision on whether to charge Ofc. Darren Wilson will occur after 2 pm. on Monday. "The anticipated release date of the Grand Jury finding in the Michael Brown case is likely to occur on 10 November after 1400 local time. The National Guard, Army Reserve, FEMA and other federal agencies are deploying additional personnel to the St. Louis metro area in the days prior to 10 November as unrest and rioting is anticipated," says a document LocalLeaks tweeted out on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ferguson appears to be preparing for possible unrest after the decision is announced -- or, more precisely, if the white officer is not indicted. The websiteGatewayPundit.com said National Guard helicopters and assorted armored vehicles are heading toward the small city as it braces for violence.
The website also said Atlanta is ramping up for the decision.
One group representing protesters in Ferguson wants notice of the grand jury's decision 48 hours before it is released, purportedly so it can "help prevent the St. Louis suburb from once again boiling over with anger, violence and confusion," according to CNN.
